There'll be no changes to public sector housing in the immediate future.
The Department of Social Care says its policies will remain the same for now, despite speculation that means based rates and fixed term tenancies could be brought in.
A public debate on public sector housing is being planned by the Department, to include discussion of cost, needs and the role of such housing.
There are around 6000 public sector homes across the Island.
