Views sought on new Anti Terror Laws

The Dept of Home Affairs is inviting members of the public to comment on new legislation to update the Isle of Man's Anti Terrorism Bill

New provisions proposed under the bill include a requirement for convicted terrorists to register with Police, and recommend new offences such as encouragement of terrorism and laws related to weapons of mass destruction.

The updates is also set to include updates to the terrorism finance act of 2009

Anyone wishing to comment should write by September 20 to Tom Bateman, Legislation Manager, Department of Home Affairs, Homefield, 88 Woodbourne Road, Douglas, Isle of Man IM2 3AP, or via email to: dhaconsultation@gov.im with Anti-Terrorism and Crime (Amendment) Bill in the subject box of the email.
