Help Raise £10,000 For Manx Cancer Help!

Taking place on Friday 20th September 2013 the Manx Cancer Help Marathong is a fun way to raise much needed funds for a very worthy local charity!

The event is open to men, women and teams with only one rule . . . . . . . wear your pants, even if it's over shorts or trousers!

The 1.3mile route starts outside Barclays Bank in Victoria Street and proceeds onto Lord Street for a loop around Douglas Marina and back to Ridgeway Street for the finish in Victoria Street outside Energy FM studios, warming down underneath Tarleton Hodgson (car park)

To get involved register now by e-mailing

To enter the marathong people / teams do need to pre-register as soon as possible and in order to raise as much money as possible for Manx Cancer Help we would encourage  and be very grateful if you could get as many sponsors as you can, sponsorship form can be obtained from  Some companies and people will be setting up a just giving page, if you need assistance with that again contact Ally at Manx Cancer Help.

This is a big event for Manx Cancer Help as they celebrate their 30th Year anniversary.  They are using the Marathong as a way of highlighting not only awareness of male cancers but also the difficulty that some men have in accessing support during and after their illness if they need it.

The charity hope to raise £10,000 and will need a great turnout in order for this to be achieved – their Patron James Toseland will be there and running on the day!

The final plan for the event is to feature ‘Best Pants and Teams’ in a fundraising calendar to raise awareness of male cancer, judging the ‘best pants and teams’ will be Her Worship the Mayor of Douglas, Councillor Mrs Carol Malarkey, J.P. and Patron James Toseland

What are you waiting for, get some friends or colleagues together and contact to register your interest in the Manx Cancer Help Marathong!

The Marathong is supported by Energy FM, Barclays, G4S and Douglas Development Partnership.
