Means testing for housing expected within two years

The Manx Government intends to bring in means testing for public sector housing within the next two years.

Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer confirmed in this week's sitting of the House of Keys that a consultation on housing is about to be launched.

The Minister added that housing authorities will start needs-based assessments within two years to ensure public sector homes are for those most in financial and housing need.

Mr Harmer was responded to a question from Garff MHK Daphne Caine.
