Police warn against rescuing lambs

Police are urging the Island's walkers to stop interfering with young lambs.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has received a number of reports of walkers attempting to rescue lambs that appear to have been abandoned by their mothers.

However, officers insist it's highly unlikely that a lamb would have been abandoned, and that these actions could do more harm than good, effecting the relationship between a lamb and its mother.

The police are also warning that removing livestock without permission could constitute an offence, no matter how good the intention.
