Police describe honesty box thieves as "mean"

Thieves who have targeted honesty boxes in the north of the Island have been described as "mean" by police.

Money was taken from an honesty box at the rear of Jurby Church on Saturday, December 6th.

It followed a similar theft from Cooil Ny Marrey residential home in Ramsey.

At some point over the last two weeks, an RNLI collection box was damaged and the contents stolen from the communal area in the home.

Police are reminding people who have responsibility for charitable collection boxes to think about using locks, chaining the boxes to something secure or leaving them in sight of other people
