Queen's Pier stabilisation scheme complete
A £1.9m scheme to stabilise the Queen's Pier in Ramsey is now complete.
The work was carried out to make the Victorian structure safe and stop it deteriorating any further, so refurbishment work can possibly be carried out there in future.
Around 55 tonnes of new steel has replaced the missing, damaged or corroded girders.
The Department of Infrastructure says the area under the pier is now safer too as it's been stripped of things like lampposts,seats, railings and loose decking.
The shelter at the end of the pier that was built in the 1980s has been knocked down, along with two tollbooths on the promenade side.
The scheme is said to have been completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
