Island hosts BIPA meeting this week

The British Irish Paliamentary Assembly meets on the Island this week.

The two day sitting gets underway at the Villa Marina this morning.

The main topic of the conference is Economic Development.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Owen Paterson, Helgi Hjorvar - the President of the Nordic council, and Chief Minister of the Isle of Man Tony Brown.

The assembly was established in 1990 as a link between Westminster and Dublin
