DHSC works to reduce spread of infection

The Island's healthcare service is launching a new approach to preventing the spread of infection.

The Department of Health and Social Care is to start using the Aseptic Non Touch Technique to minimise the risk of infection during clinical procedures.

ANTT ensures all healthcare professionals will follow a standard regime whether carrying out clinical procedures or dressing a wound in a patient's home.

The technique will be introduced in Noble's Hospital and Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital as well as some areas of community health before being rolled out elsewhere.
