Fire service offers Christmas fire safety advice

The Island's fire brigade is offering advice on avoiding fires at home over Christmas.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has posted a video urging locals to make sure they aren't at an increased risk of fire over the festive period.

Tips include not placing candles near Christmas trees, ensuring visiting relatives know how to escape in the event of a fire and not cooking after drinking alcohol.

Fire officers also warn those buying Christmas tree lights to make sure they conform to the British standard.
