The Clerk of the Course insists a rider and medical team were not put in danger during the Superbike TT race.

Davey Lambert has since died from his injuries after crashing on the third lap of Sunday's race at Greeba Castle.

He was treated at the scene by medics while marshals waved yellow flags before later being transferred to Noble's Hospital by air ambulance.

Gary Thompson insists the rider was away from the racing line and that the best course of action was to stabilise his condition at the scene before moving him.

Mr Thompson also said that treatment of Lambert wasn't compromised or affected by the decision to continue with the race.
