Changes to issuing of firearms licences

Sun, 04 Jun 2017

The way some firearms licences are issued on the Isle of Man is changing.

The Isle of Man Constabulary will issue Regulated Weapons certificates on a rolling basis, with each certificate valid for 10 years from the date of issue.

Those who hold a Regulated Weapon certificate are responsible for ensuring they submit a renewal application three months before the existing permit expires.

The licensing department is urging those who hold such licences to ensure they know when their certificate expires, as well as notifying the police if their circumstances change or they no longer have their weapons.
