Mountain Road to remain closed while police investigate crash

The Mountain Road is likely to remain closed until at least 4pm while police carry out crash investigations.

The route shut shortly after midday following a collision at the Verandah.

Officers confirmed a biker is being taken to hospital with serious injuries, and that the road will stay closed between Barrule Park and the Bungalow while investigations are carried out.

Police say they will open the road as soon as possible, but expect it to be at least 4pm before the scene is clear.

Motorists are urged to use alternative routes if travelling to and from the north of the Island.
