Tynwald asked to consider medicinal cannabis committee

An MHK will ask Tynwald to investigate the medicinal use of cannabis.

Douglas East member Clare Bettison will call for a five-member committee to be set up when the Island's parliament meets next week.

Miss Bettison wants the committee to look at the medical use of cannabis products as well as the scope of scientific research into such products.

If given the go ahead, the committee will be asked to report back to Tynwald with recommendations no later than November this year.
