Hospital ward reopens after Norovirus outbreak

A hospital ward that has been closed for almost a week because of a virus has re-opened to new admissions.

Ward 5 was one of two wards to close at Noble's Hospital last week following an outbreak of Norovirus.

However, Ward 8 has had to close again as a precaution, but the Department of Health and Social Care will reassess the situation later.

As a result, no elective surgery scheduled for today is expected to be cancelled.

The Department is still advising anyone who has had a stomach bug in the last 72 hours not to visit the hospital to minimise the risk of the illness spreading.
