Young people from the Isle of Man are being given the chance to mark Commonwealth Day in the presence of the Queen next year.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association is inviting 18 to 25 year olds from the Island to apply to attend an observance of the occasion in London.

Queen Elizabeth II will be attending a ceremony at Westminster Abbey and an evening reception, which two Manx residents will be invited to attend.

Applicants must have an interest in the Commonwealth and parliamentary democracy, and will have to submit a report about their experience after the event.

Those interest in taking part must apply by January 6th, explaining in fewer than 200 words why they should respresent the Island.

Applications should be sent my email to r.donnelly@tynwald.org.im.
