Downgrade for IOM-CITY BA Passengers

Sat, 01 Oct 2016

The only airline serving the Island with a 'full service' model has confirmed it will be withdrawing its on board complimentary service and offering a low cost carrier model.

British Airways operates the premium London City Route and this week has announced they will be ceasing offering the traditional drinks and snacks, but instead passengers can purchase items on board.

The airline has described this as ‘an upgrade’ and faced a huge backlash from customers who say the change means that BA now offers a service similar to rivals Easyjet, but at a much higher price.

The Isle of Man to London City route is considerably more expensive than Easyjet’s Gatwick service and frequent flyers have criticised the move.

So from next Summer, there will be no more traditional cup of tea or a Gin & Tonic on Isle of Man to City flights - unless you pay extra.

BA’s catering changes commence earlier (from 11th January) on all Short Haul and Domestic services out of Heathrow and Gatwick.
