Cavendish praised for being a 'superb ambassador'

Wed, 17 Aug 2016

Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish says he's unsure whether he'll continue his quest for a gold Olympic medal.
The Team GB rider secured silver during the men's Omnium event on Monday night - saying although it was "really nice" he was disappointed as gold would have "finished his collection".
The 31-year-old's achievements on the track have been celebrated on the Isle of Man - the Chief Minister had paid tribute to him saying he's a "superb ambassador".
Education and Children Minister Tim Crookall says he's sure the Manx Missile will continue to be a "great source of inspiration" to many people on the Island and throughout the sporting world.
Speaking to the BBC after the race Cavendish said he wasn't sure if he would be competing at the Tokyo Olympics in four years' time:
