Voting reminder to those approaching 16

Tue, 16 Aug 2016

Teenagers on the Isle of Man are being urged to have their say on how the Island is governed for the next five years.

Young people can be added to the electoral register in advance of their 16th birthday so they can vote as soon as they hit the milestone age.

Those who turn 16 before the General Election on September 22nd - and who are included on a household voter registration form sent back by September 1st - will be able to have their say.

In 2006 the Isle of Man was one of the first nations in the world to give 16-year-olds the vote - the Cabinet Office says it hopes as many people as possible take part in the House of Keys elections.
