Cretney successful in MLC bid

David Cretney has today brought to an end 30 years as an MHK after successfully being voted into the Legislative Council.

He was the second successful candidate after Bill Henderson received 17 votes to secure the first of four seats.

In an unexpected twist Juan Watterson MHK nominated Peel MHK and Education Minister Tim Crookall.

As it stands there will be by-elections for Douglas South and Douglas North.

We asked David if he feels any relief leaving his MHK role:
