Archery Round Up

Fri, 23 Jan 2015

The IoM Archery Club met on Sunday to shoot a Metric round as part of the Club’s Scratch League. The senior Archers shot on a triple face target, while the Juniors shot on a single face.

In the Ladies Compound division Sarah Rigby took the win by 11 points from Joy Gough. The Gents Compound competition was a much closer affair between Colin Moore and Peter Mumford, with only two points separating the men. Pete Mumford made things hard for himself by missing with an arrow in the final end but still held on the take the win.

Tony Hartley had an easy win over Danny Cowin in the Gents Recurve. An out of form Danny Cowin suffered three misses and was nowhere near his best.

The largest field of the day came in the Junior Gents division with four boys shooting. Josh Trafford added 3 points to his pb to take victory. James Hill added an excellent 95 points to his personal best for the round and took second place into the bargain. Toby Young shot just a few points short of his best and had to settle for third place. Joseph Reaney had to be content with fourth place.
