Island's farmers still counting cost of 2013 snow

The Island's farming community is still picking up the pieces from the devastating snowfall one year ago.

A number of farmers incurred near crippling financial damage after thousands of sheep and cattle died in the unprecedented snowfall of March 2013.

They were buried under the snow - with resting snow also causing the collapse of barns and sheds.

Farmer Graham Crowe lost dozens of sheep - he also spearheaded the farmer’s benevolent trust in the wake of the tragedy, raising much needed funds for many struggling individuals.

He says he fears some farmers will never recover:
