Will compromise be reached today between government and bus drivers?

Fri, 14 Sep 2012  07:51

There will be a follow up meeting today in the ongoing battle to find a compromise between bus drivers and government.

The long running dispute has centred on a money saving idea by government which would have seen paid lunch breaks taken away from the bus drivers.

It would have resulted in a £300,000 saving, whilst working out at roughly a 12% pay cut to the workers.

Off the back of last month’s meeting Head of the Unite Union, Eric Holmes said he was hopeful a compromise had been reached, but all will be revealed today now the ballot has been completed.
