Results day for year 13 pupils

Thu, 16 Aug 2012

Around 400 students from the Island’s five secondary schools will receive their A-Level results today.

It marks the culmination of two years of study for the year 13s.

This particular group of students sat their GCSEs in 2010 with over half of the school year choosing to stay on to sixth form.

Today’s results will determine if they have been successful in securing a place at their first choice university.

Those who haven’t will be given help to go into the clearing system to try and secure a place at their second choice.

Paul Craine from the Department of Education and Children said there’s also help for students who do better than expected.
