Government considering its view to UK plans to change the clocks

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

The Isle of Man Government is considering its response to a proposal for clocks in the UK to go forward permanently by one hour.

Despite not being part of the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man would undoubtedly be affected.

The government in England is ready to back the plans - but only if Scotland agrees to the change.

Prime Minister David Cameron says he is "interested" in the issue, but it can only happen if all parts of the UK are behind the idea.

If the scheme goes ahead, it will move the UK in line with Central European Time for a trial period of three years.

A spokesperson for the Manx Government says they're aware of the proposal and will be considering the Island's view.
