Consultation on DDA to go ahead

Sat, 15 Jan 2011

The Dept of Social Care is to commission a study into the costs of implementing the Disability Discrimination Act.

The act was passed by Tynwald to make it unlawful to discriminate against people with disabilities.

The act was passed in the UK in 2006 and costs have run into hundreds of millions of pounds.

The Government are now looking for companies to express an interest in carrying out the cost analysis for the Isle of Man.

Minister for Social Care Martyn Quayle tells us more.
