Remembrance Sunday is approaching and everyone on the Island is being encouraged to pay their respects,  by wearing poppies with pride, participating in services and observing silences.

His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister will be present at the Isle of Man National Service of Remembrance which is being held at the Royal Chapel of St Johns at 3pm on Sunday.

The Borough of Douglas Remembrance Service is taking place on Sunday as well at St Thomas's Church with road closures in place on Finch Road, Church Road, Marina and Harris Prom between 9am and 12pm.

Two silences will also be observed this week at 11am on Thursday 11th as well as Remembrance Sunday. During the silences motorists are requested to stop driving and turn off their engines.
