Passengers visiting Douglas by sea fell by nearly 4% in June.

94.390 passed through Douglas harbour in June, compared with nearly 4000 more in the same month last year.

However, over 300 more vehicles used the port in the same period.

The Department of Infrastructure says scheduled route traffic was actually up, the fall in passenger numbers was down to fewer visiting pleasure vessels.

Passengers on the Liverpool route increased by 16%, whilst Heysham fell by 13%.

The Belfast route lost nearly 30% of its passengers, but Dublin increased by over 5%.

There were also over 1700 passengers from Larne, which was a new route in 2010.
